Day 1 & 2: Arrive Boston, MA
Dear Diary: Today we arrived in Boston! We’ve been so excited to come and see the place that’s famous for everything from the Red Sox and Paul Revere to “Cheers” and clam “chowdah,” We walked the Freedom Trail, a pedestrian path, marked by red paint on the sidewalks, that weaves in and out of historic neighborhoods. We shopped on Newbury Street, Boston’s “Rodeo Drive,” and ate an authentic Italian meal in the North End. Myra spent some time in the city’s world-class museums, and she especially loved the Isabella Stuart Gradner Museum. The kids loved the aquarium, and science museum.
2 nights Boston.

* The Hilton Woburn is located approx 10 miles from downtown Boston, The hotel offers complimentary car parking and complimentary transportation within a 5 mile radius from 7am-10pm daily which can be used to take you to nearby restaurants, shopping malls and to Anderson train station, from Anderson train station you can take the Logan express shuttle to Boston Logan Airport or the train which will take you into downtown Boston. 
 
Day 3: To Mid Coast Maine (112 mi/180 km)
Dear Diary: On the way to Portland, Maine today, we visited Kennebunkport, a gorgeous village that’s the seasonal home to former US President George Bush. We stopped to see Portland Head Light before we explores the Old Port Exchange on the waterfront. Plentiful restaurants feature the local specialty — lobster... and we all had one!
1 night Mid Coast Maine

Day 4: To White Mountains, NH (107 mi/171km)
Dear Diary: Today, we traveled across Maine to New Hampshire. We could see the mountains looming in the distance! We arrived in North Conway to find tons of factory outlets! I had to drag Myra away before she spent too much! We drove up to the top of Mount Washington, where it sometimes snows, even in July! The kids just loved it!
1 night White Mountains.

Day 5: To Northern Vermont (130 mi/208 km)
Dear Diary: Today, we drove along the Kancamagus Highway — it was once an Indian Trail through the Mountains! Then we saw Lake Winnipesaukee en route to Vermont We stopped at Quechee Gorge, Vermont’s mini Grand Canyon, and in Woodstock with its lovely shops and covered bridge. We didn’t stop long, though, because we wanted to visit Shelburne Museum’s collections of Americana, gardens and the SS Ticonderoga. We relaxed at our hotel later, after a great day!
1 night Northern Vermont.

Day 6: To CT River Valley, MA (174 mi/278 km)
Dear Diary: Today we stopped in ManchesterVillage on our way to the Berkshire Hills of Massachusetts — more outlets (Myra’s in heaven!). The kids were really fascinated to learn about the Shakers at Hancock Shaker Village. We stopped in Stockbridge, at the Norman Rockwell Museum, before traveling onward to the Springfield area.
1 night Connecticut River Valley.

Day 7: To Cape Cod, MA (186 mi/298 km)
Dear Diary:Today we headed into America’s smallest state, Rhode Island, to visit Newport, the summer resort of America’s first millionaires. Newport’s waterfront is home to many shops and restaurants, and we all loved the Harbor Cruise! Then we were off to Cape Cod, with its sandy beaches, historic villages, great shopping and excellent seafood.
1 night Cape Cod.

Day 8: To Boston, MA (75 mi/120 km)
Dear Diary: This morning we had a fabulous visit to Plimoth Plantation, a living museum depicting Pilgrim and Native American life in 1627. We hated to catch our flight home! We’ll go back next year for a longer visit!
