Day 1 & 2: Boston, MA
Dear Diary: It was great to finally arrive in Boston! As soon as we had checked into our hotel, we crossed the river to Cambridge, because Julian wanted to check out Harvard University. What a beautiful school! Anna and her Mom demanded to stop into some of the funky shops there. The next day, we took a ride on the Boston Ducks and walked the Freedom Trail.
2 nights Boston

* The Hilton Woburn is located approx 10 miles from downtown Boston, The hotel offers complimentary car parking and complimentary transportation within a 5 mile radius from 7am-10pm daily which can be used to take you to nearby restaurants, shopping malls and to Anderson train station, from Anderson train station you can take the Logan express shuttle to Boston Logan Airport or the train which will take you into downtown Boston. 
 
Day 3: To Mid Coast Maine (112 mi/180 km)
Dear Diary: Today we were off, heading north to Maine. We stopped in Portsmouth to see Strawbery Banke, before heading for Portland, where we visited to Longfellow House (we had heard all about Paul Revere’s ride in Boston, and wanted to know more about the poet who made him famous!)
1 night Mid Coast Maine

Day 4 & 5: To Bar Harbor Area, ME (162 mi/259 km)
Dear Diary: The drive along the Maine Coast could be a holiday in itself! There are so many wonderful villages - we wanted to stop for a night in each. Acadia National Park was as beautiful as advertised.... potentially another one-week holiday destination!

Day 6 & 7: To White Mtns, NH (250 mi/403 km)
Dear Diary: Today, we drove through gorgeous scenery - from forests to field, all interspersed with sparkling lakes and rivers to the White Mountains. We drove to the summit of Mt.Washington, where Julian spent lots of time at the weather station. 2 nights White Mountains

Day 8 & 9: To Northern Vermont (130 mi/208 km)
Dear Diary: Today,we headed to Woodstock, where we had tea at the Woodstock Inn, and visited the Billings Farm Museum. During our time in Vermont, we saw the University of Vermont in Burlington, and we were stunned by the wonderful collections at the Shelburne Museum.

Day 10: To Connecticut River Valley, MA (174 mi/278 km)
Dear Diary: We saw the Vermont Marble Museum today, before we headed to the Berkshires, where we visited Arrowhead, where Herman Melville wrote Moby Dick.

Day 11 & 12: To Newport, RI (127 mi/203 km)
Dear Diary: Before heading to Newport, we stopped in Mystic at the Aquarium. Julian was dying to see Dr. Robert Ballards finds... the Titanic and a sunken Phonecian trading ship. Amazing! In Newport, Spend the day on a spectacular
beach, tour the Cliff Walk and Ten Mile Drive with its extravagant summer mansions. Newport’s restored waterfront features many shops and restaurants.

Day 13 & 14: To Cape Cod, MA (75 mi/120 km)
Dear Diary: Our last two days on Cape Cod were our last chance to unwind, and we took full advantage of the gorgeous beaches to do so.

Day 15: To Boston (75 mi/120 km)
En route to Logan Airport, we planned our trip next year, after stopping to talk to the Pilgrims at lovely Plimoth Plantation. Julian even talked to them about doing an internship next summer!
